Celebrating its 17th year, the DMV West Point Leadership, Ethics, and Diversity in STEM (WPLEADS) Workshop annually inspires over 200+ local, underserved students, educators, local community leaders, and influencers.
This motivating workshop provides information and knowledge on the opportunities available at West Point, ROTC, and Tier 1 Educational Institutions while also exposing Middle and High School students to the dynamic world of STEM.
WPLEADS strives to cultivate a passion for STEM education and character-driven leadership in participants, leaving a lasting impact on the local community.
Greetings Students!
You have a chance to earn awards, recognition, and or scholarships! The West Point LEADS Workshop is hosting an Essay competition.
High school students have a choice of topics: Social Ethics, STEM Ethics, or Civics Ethics.
In your essay, remember to tell the judges to which essay prompt you are responding, your name, email, cell, and school.
Follow all the instructions.
Middle School students have only one prompt, but the same chance for awards, recognition, and or scholarship.
Attire: Business Casual/School/Duty Uniform; Military (including JROTC): ASU or duty uniform as appropriate.
Photographs/Videographer: Event will be photographed and/or filmed.
Keep cell phones/electronics off at workshop, except during breaks.
