Meet and Greet
We welcome Cadet Candidates from the Maryland, District of Columbia, and Virginia Congressional districts. State Field Force Representatives and Alumni from the Cadet's affiliate Class (50 years) will also be invited.
We have special guests from
West Point Public Affairs (Parent Coordinator) and West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) Parent Liaison.
R-Day
We will have a parent
support team at West Point for this exciting, long, and emotional Reception Day.
If a public ceremony is conducted,
you will see your New Cadet recite an oath of allegiance to the United States.
Summer Social
While your New Cadet is attending Cadet Basic Training (CBT), we hope that you will attend a Club social. This will be an opportunity to bond with other Class parents, and to learn about our planned activities and events.
March Back
March Back is the return from field training for New Cadets. The top company will
lead and display the Class Motto.
Along with their affiliate Class, they will march throughout the West Point community.
A-Day
Acceptance Day is the formal acceptance of the New Cadets by the Corps of Cadets, now called Plebes. A Pass and Review will consist of the entire Corps of Cadets.
Ring Presentation
We will be at West Point to distribute and sell Class Crest afghans to the "Firstie" Class as they begin their graduation year.
This is our main fundraiser.
Funds are donated to the WPAOG Parents Fund to support "Margin of Excellence" programs.
Labor Day Pass
Cadets in good standing and not assigned duty, will be given a pass for this Federal Holiday.
We sponsor a Cadet Bus Service that will depart West Point on Friday and return on Monday. The bus makes several stops along I-95 in Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia.
Football Saturdays
Home Football games at West Point are something to experience!
Pregame activities include a
Drill Team display, Pass and Review, parachute team demonstration, and activities in front of Michie Stadium.
Only a 4 1/2 hour ride from our area!
Family Weekend
One Saturday home football game will be designated as family weekend and will include additional events sponsored by the West Point Parents Coordinator and the WPAOG.
We typically host a post-game tailgate for our members.
"Hooah" Tent Army Ten Miler
In conjunction with the West Point Society of DC and the National Capital Region (WPS-DC) and West Point Admissions, we sponsor a hospitality tent. The tent is used to support the Army West Point Marathon Team and USMA Field Force Representatives.
Thanksgiving Leave
Cadets will have several days off for Thanksgiving and we will offer our
Cadet Bus Service.
Army Navy Game
This event is another opportunity
to see your Cadet.
Winter Break

This formal event during Winter Break, is for Cadets and guests in the area who are attending the Service Academies. The evening will include dinner, an inspirational guest speaker,
and military traditions.

near Ft. Belvoir, VA
500th Night/100th Night/
Yearling Winter Weekend
These Upper Class events allow Cadets to exercise military social etiquette and protocol. Some events may be opened for Cadet guests.
Boodle
To brighten up the "gray period,"
the Club gathers boodle (snacks/treats) and delivers them to our Cadets.
Founders Day
In March of each year, Founders Day gatherings are organized by West Point Societies (WPAOG).
Nominated Cadet Candidates from our area are often invited to attend with their parents
along with a representative from our
Board of Directors.
Plebe Weekend
Prior to Plebes departing for Spring Break, they will assume Cadet leadership roles normally assigned to Upper Class Cadets.
A Plebe-only Pass and Review will be conducted.
Spring Break
We offer Cadet Bus Service to our area.
Graduation
After the Graduation Ceremony and before Commissioning Oaths, the Club reserves
the Riverside Cafe for a Graduation Luncheon catered by the Directorate of Cadet Activities
in Eisenhower Hall.
Cadet Summer Training
Beginning Graduation week, and continuing throughout the summer, Cadets will be assigned additional military and leadership training.
Plebes undergo Cadet Field Training (CFT) conducted at Camp Buckner. Upon completion, Plebes will be promoted to Cadet Corporal, and will be ready to begin the academic year as Yearlings.
We offer Cadet Bus Services after the Graduation Ceremony and CFT.
Parents of Cadet Candidates who are offered admission to the United States Military Academy Preparation School and become members are eligible to use the
Cadet Bus Service.
We have a dedicated and experienced
USMAPS parent available for support.
We partner with our Field Force
and West Point Societies.
Our parents regularly assist with Cadet Fitness Assessments (CFA), West Point Admissions Events, and the area Leadership, Ethics, and Diversity in STEM (LEADS) Conference.
We help put "fans in the stands" to support our Cadets as athletes, Cadets on trip sections, and Cadets in the area on Academic Individual Advanced Development (AIAD).
Our events and activities rely on
volunteers for organization and support.
"I see my volunteer time as a contribution to those who have chosen the more challenging road ... our Cadets. Volunteering provides me with an opportunity to not only share the experience but, to some degree help shape some aspects of the
Cadet's life during their maturation."
